As an instructional designer, I am passionate about identifying and solving the challenges that organizations face. A natural problem-solver, I thrive on delving into data and conducting thorough needs analyses to uncover the underlying "why" behind issues. This allows me to collaboratively develop effective solutions that address the root causes and drive meaningful change.
While I deeply enjoy the problem-solving aspect, I also find great satisfaction in the design process itself. I take pride in creating efficient, impactful learning experiences that optimize time and resources. Seeing how these designs come together and watching people gain relevant knowledge that they can immediately apply is incredibly rewarding.
I am highly organized, driven, and committed to continuous growth, particularly in keeping up with emerging technologies and best practices. I enjoy both independent work and collaboration, understanding that productive struggle is often essential to growth. I value open, honest communication and believe in the power of working towards common goals with a dedicated team.
In addition to my professional skills, I carry these values into my personal life. I cherish time with my family, whether at home, in the garden, on the golf course, or simply relaxing with a movie. I am also constantly seeking opportunities to learn new skills, both for personal enjoyment and professional development.
I began my instructional design journey in January 2024 by enrolling in AIDA – the Applied Instructional Design Academy, with a focus on Learning Strategy and Design. Prior to AIDA, I explored introductory courses on instructional design through platforms like LinkedIn and Udemy. While these courses provided useful foundational knowledge, they lacked the hands-on, practical experience that I was seeking.
When I discovered AIDA, I recognized the opportunity to deepen my skills, particularly with software tools that I had either not used before or had only explored in a limited capacity. Through AIDA, I gained invaluable experience with industry-standard tools, allowing me to expand my technical expertise and refine my instructional design process.
Thanks to the comprehensive, hands-on learning environment at AIDA, I have grown both personally and professionally. I now feel confident in my abilities and am fully prepared to take on real-world projects. This experience has not only equipped me with the skills I need but has also solidified my passion for instructional design, and I am excited to apply my knowledge in a professional setting.
